• We really liked the whole flat. It has two terraces, one of them shaded all day, which helped a lot on hot days. The flat is on two floors, fully equipped and clean — we lacked nothing. The beach is a minute's walk away. Communication with Karo, the manager, was excellent. We liked everything.

• Because we had two boys with us this time, we did not go for a quiet little house up in the mountains but for the (by Gomeran standards) slightly livelier setting of Playa de la Calera. A few metres from the beach, shops and restaurants around the corner, short distances and plenty of variety. The two balconies add a lot of space; the upper terrace in particular is perfect for meals and for relaxing.

  The plan worked out completely — the flat turned out to be a good combination. The place is large, comfortable and very practically laid out. Compliments to the host: everything was in perfect condition, absolutely clean, good quality linen, a fully equipped kitchen, and really very good beds. Everything was simply right.

  Communication worked very well: proactive, direct arrangements during the journey, then tips once we were there. All excellent.

  We are thoroughly satisfied and recommend the place without reservation.

The balcony is absolutely stunning, as is gets all-day sun, has retractable awnings if you want shade, has outdoor furniture for lounging on and a table for outdoor dining too.

  The apartment is very well furnished too, with the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms having everything one could possibly need during one's stay.

  Karo contacted us before our check-in to confirm our arrival to ask us about any particular needs we might have, greeted us warmly upon our arrival and was contactable and communicative throughout our stay.

  Overall, this apartment provides an ideal base to explore the La Playa area and all of Valle Gran Rey!

• We had a wonderful holiday on La Gomera.

  The flat is very attractive and generous, wonderfully situated, and offers everything you need to feel comfortable.

  We were welcomed very warmly, and some fruit and water were already waiting for us as refreshment. We particularly enjoyed the upper sun terrace, where after long hikes or simply a stroll through the valley you can unwind and enjoy the view of the sea and its wonderful sound. And if it does get too warm, the awning provides shade.

  Good restaurants, shops and a supermarket are right around the corner, so stocking up is no trouble. The bus stop is at the door and parking was always available, so that side of things works too.

  Communication with the hosts was always quick and very warm, both before and during our stay.

  In short: everything excellent! We would happily return.

From the upper bedroom you step straight onto the roof terrace, where we watched the stars in the evening and the sea and the beach during the day. The lower bedroom has two single beds and even a study where you can work if you want to or have to. We were in the water within minutes. The distances really are short — wherever you are going. Hiking, swimming, shopping, eating, catching the bus... all just a few minutes away.

  Although it is centrally located, it is remarkably quiet. Though we were there in a quiet season.

• We had a wonderful time in Anna-Maria's flat. The setting right by the Playa is stunning. Everything was spotlessly clean and practically furnished. The bedroom with the sea view is magnificent and, together with the roof terrace, the highlight of the flat. The mattresses were very comfortable too — our backs have had a rather different time of it in other places in Valle Gran Rey.

  We had everything we needed to feel at home, and whenever something did come up we could reach Karo, the local coordinator, day or night.
